We kicked off the month of October with our fun-filled theme I Am Growing Up. We are all very excited to be exploring aspects of the theme that include what makes us unique, our change in growth, as well as the fun things that we can do on our own as we grow. The children have particularly enjoyed learning more about their five senses.
我們以充滿樂趣的主題《我正在長大》開始了十月份的主題學習。我們都非常高興能夠通過不同的方式探索該主題,包括使我們與眾不同的因素,長大的變化以及隨著我們的成長可以獨自做的有趣的事情。孩子們特別喜歡學習關於他們的感官的活動,包括:觸覺,味覺,嗅覺,聽覺和視覺。
We’ve focused on the letter Dd; identifying the letter, sounding it out, and even tracing it together. The children have had a lot of fun getting creative with their ‘letter Dd is for dinosaur’ crafts on their alphabet books! We have also been creating the letter Dd on our playdough mats, using decorative dots to design letter Dd, and even had a ‘letter Dd is for density’ science experiment in class where we explored things that sink or float in water.
這個月,我們專注於英文字母Dd的學習,甚至一起探討字母 Dd 的詞彙。孩子們在的字母書本上創造了「Dd」這個代表恐龍的手工藝術品,孩子們充滿創造力,還獲得了很多樂趣!我們還通過在橡皮布墊上創建字母Dd,使用裝飾點設計字母Dd,甚至在課堂上通過科學實驗一起探索了東西在水中下沉或漂浮的原因來學習字母「Dd」。
During Maths time, we have been looking at and counting with numbers 7 to 9. We’re paying close attention to the children’s counting skills, especially with regards to their one-to-one correspondence and cardinal counting skills which will be important for learning even bigger numbers as we progress through the year! We’ve also introduced shapes including square, circle, triangle, rectangle, diamond and heart. We encourage the children to trace the shapes in order to recognise them and to find them in familiar objects from their surrounding environment.

To develop our gross motor skills, the children are learning the basics of ball games through focusing on skills like kicking a ball, catching a ball, and rolling a ball. They had a lot of fun watching and practicing these skills with their friends. As for fine motor skills, we’ve been focusing on pasting things onto paper, building a tower of up to 10 blocks, as well as opening containers. On top of that, we also provide pre-writing exercises for the children to practice their tracing skills while gradually improving their pencil grip.

Art Room time has been a lot of fun! We’ve created a ‘My Five Senses Wheel’ where we reinforced the theme of the day and practiced a combination of painting, tracing, and sticking skills. The final outcomes look incredibly unique and we look forward to creating more theme-related art projects together!
在幼兒班,美勞室的時間的時間總是充滿樂趣的!我們製作了「我的五種感官輪」,通過這個活動,我們結合繪畫、描寫、和粘貼的技巧強化了主題學習內容!孩子們的作品看起是獨一無二的。能一起製作更多與主題相關的藝術作品,我們感到特別快樂!

K1 students finally returned to on-campus classes and began the theme I Am Growing Up as well as celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival, a traditional festival that involves reunion and gathering.
經過漫長的等待,我們終於在寓意團圓、相聚的中國傳統節日-中秋節活動中拉開了我們「我正在長大」這個主題單元的序幕。
Students who progressed from Pre-Nursery have shown significant improvements on their self-care and practical life skills. They are able to recognise gender and age. They also discovered through fun games that they have grown up, as they can walk, jump, run, sing, dance, change their shoes, etc. They are also able to count from one to ten.
孩子們從學前班來到幼兒班,自理能力和學習能力有明顯的提高、老師通過故事、遊戲、兒歌、和情景表演讓孩子們認識自己:知道自己的性別、年齡並懂得告訴老師:「我是男孩子/女孩子。我三歲了!」並能通過《好孩子》這首兒歌懂得長大了,孩子們學習了常規的重要性;我們還通過遊戲,知道「我長大了」,認識到自己會走、會跳、會跑、會唱歌、會跳舞、會穿鞋子......還能利用不同的玩具學習唱數一到十呢,通過各種遊戲,孩子們感知到成長的樂趣。
The children celebrated autumn and Halloween during October. During morning assemblies, the students learnt about the characteristics of autumn and showcased their performance of Let’s go hiking. They did a really great job!
孩子們在十月還迎來了「萬聖節」活動,在早會上孩子們,通過認識「秋天」的季節特點,認識了秋天的節日,從而帶出了「秋高氣爽,去郊遊」的表演,孩子們在表演的過程中,特別努力,你們真的太棒了!
