We have been so delighted to welcome the students back on campus! They have settled back into school life quickly and they have all been socialising well together.

我們非常高興歡迎學生回到校園!他們很快重新融入了學校生活,並且都一起進行了良好的社交活動。

The students have been exploring the topic of Minibeasts this month and have learned about the life cycles and habitats of butterflies and spiders. We’ve investigated this topic through songs, stories, games, and creative art projects.

學生們本月一直在探索《微型小生物》的主題。我們討論了特定的小生物,例如蝴蝶,蜘蛛,以及生命週期和棲息地。我們已經通過歌曲,故事,遊戲和創意藝術項目探討了這個主題。 

We are continuing to develop our literacy skills in phonics. We are nearing the end of the alphabet now, so the students are confident with the phonetic sound, vocabulary, and writing the upper and lower case of most of the letters. This month, we have also been focusing on blending, vowel differentiation, and beginning to read and spell CVC words.

我們將繼續學習和發展我們的語音學習。我們現在已經快要結束字母表的學習了。孩子們對字母的發音、詞彙和大多數字母的大小寫的書寫都充滿信心。這個月,我們也一直專注於混合音和元音的差異的探討,並且開始閱讀和拼寫CVC單詞。

We have also begun our music lessons with Mr Eric. He began by instilling some basic skills and knowledge about the ukulele, so the students respect and look after the instruments. The students learnt about different musical notes and began strumming their new instruments like rock stars!

我們還與音樂老師Eric開始了音樂課程的學習。他首先灌輸一些有關夏威夷四弦琴的基本技能和知識,教導孩子要學會尊重並愛惜樂器。學生們學習了不同的音符,並開始用他們的新樂器彈奏搖滾樂!

K2 has also been celebrating some special occasions this month. We marked a change of season during autumn week, we took part in lots of activities and hosted a special performance for Halloween, and we celebrated two birthdays with our friends.

低班的孩子在這個月也慶祝了一些特殊的日子。我們在秋天迎來了萬聖節派對並在家長早會上進行了一場特別的表演,還為兩位班上的孩子慶祝了生日呢!

It has been a fun-filled month and we can’t wait for more learning adventures in November!

MANDARIN

K2 students have started their Mini-beasts topic of study in October. They learnt about the life cycle of a butterfly and a spider. The students can describe their characteristics by comparing the differences – butterflies are insects with head, chest, abdomen and six legs, while spiders are arthropods with eight legs and compound eyes. They showed curiosity when studying these two mini-beasts through observation and discussion.

10月,孩子們展開了新的主題「微型小生物」這一個主題單元的學習和探討。我們通過《好餓好餓的毛毛蟲》這一個繪本故事帶出了蝴蝶的生長過程,知道蝴蝶屬於變態發育。孩子們還化身成「蝴蝶」在星星房進行模擬情景遊戲,重溫了蝴蝶從蟲卵到幼蟲到蛹到成蝶的過程;接著,我們還和孩子們一起認識了蜘蛛,通過比較蝴蝶和蜘蛛的不同,孩子們能通過自己的語言描述蜘蛛的外型特徵和牠結網的行為,知道蝴蝶是昆蟲,分頭、胸、腹三部分並有三對腳。而蜘蛛屬於節肢動物,有四對腳,無變態發育,無翅膀,眼睛是複眼。大家通過觀察和討論對這兩種小生物都充滿好奇。

They also explored the theme of Autumn and Halloween, and gained an understanding of changes to weather in autumn through performing the song Autumn is Coming. The students had fun dressing as autumn leaves during assembly to perform for their parents and welcome the arrival of Halloween together.

這個月,我們還迎來了涼爽的秋天,認識了秋天的天氣和變化,並且通過表演歌曲《秋天來了》認識了秋天樹葉的變化,知道秋天的葉子是紅色、黃色、橘色和咖啡色的,孩子們還一起變成各種顏色的葉子表演給爸爸媽媽看,一起迎接萬聖節的到來。
