This month, we started off with our Care for All Things celebration. We discovered how we can care for the environment, animals, our school and our friends. We’ve talked about how we can recycle our rubbish, how to look after our pets and how to be kind to our friends. We were able to share how much we have cared for our plants and how much they have grown since they were distributed as small seedlings back in October. The children have also sent in teacher-appreciation cards that warmed our hearts. A big thanks to the children and their parents for their kind words.

本月,我們開始了「關愛週」的慶祝活動。我們發現了如何照顧環境、動物、學校和朋友;我們討論了如何回收垃圾、照顧寵物以及對朋友友善。自從十月份我們把小花苗帶回家中種植,我們能夠分享對植物的照顧以及它們的生長情況。孩子們還給老師寄出了感謝卡,這使我們感到特別溫暖。非常感謝孩子們和他們的父母的親切言詞。

We then began our fun-filled theme Jobs People Do. We have been exploring the different occupations by looking into what they do, what clothes they wear, what tools they use, and where they work. It’s been lots of fun getting imaginative with our theme-based art projects too. This has allowed the children to explore and role play the different occupations. We have had firefighter helmets, hoses and walkie-talkies, chef hats, doctor kits, postal worker bags, and so much more to come!

然後,我們開始了充滿樂趣的主題「人們的工作」。我們一直在探討不同的職業,了解他們的職責、穿什麼衣服、使用什麼工具以及在哪裡工作。我們這個單元的美勞作品也富有想像力,讓孩子們能更了解並扮演不同的職業。我們有消防員頭盔、消防喉和對講機、廚師帽、醫生用品包、郵政工作人員包等等!

During phonics, we have been looking at the letter I and J and have created beautiful insect and jellyfish artworks in our alphabet books. One of our highlights was when we carried out an ice fishing experiment. We tried our best to fish for ice with a little piece of string and some salt. It was great to see that some children were filled with awe with their results!

在拼音方面,我們學習到字母I和字母J,並在字母書中創作了精美的昆蟲和水母藝術品。我們的亮點之一是進行冰釣實驗。我們盡力用少許繩子和一些鹽釣冰。很高興看到有些孩子對結果感到驚訝!

We continue to look forward to learning together although we are physically apart. Many thanks to our class parents who have been collaborating with us to ensure that the children continue to develop their love of learning.

儘管我們彼此相距遙遠,但我們仍期待著一起學習。非常感謝所有的家長與我們合作,以確保孩子們繼續發展並保持對學習的熱愛。

MANDARIN

Welcome back to Term 2. K1 students focused on the theme Care for All Things, and learnt the importance of caring for our animals, family, friends and environment. 

時間過得真快,轉眼間,我們迎來了第二學期。我們通過故事、遊戲和不同的活動展開了「關愛身邊的一切」這個主題單元。在活動中,孩子們通過聆聽故事《什麼是愛》,知道了應該如何在生活中表達對家人、朋友的「愛」;通過《人人都要愛》,孩子們了解到「愛」是我們生活中不可缺少的情感;而在《地球也要愛》這本書中,孩子們意識到愛護環境,循環再用對地球的重要性。在這個單元中,孩子們懂得了愛護動物、家人、朋友、環境的重要性。

Following this, they have explored various occupations such as firefighter, chef, doctor, dentist, postmen and construction worker through storytelling and songs during the theme Jobs People Do. They love role playing occupations during our online activities.

接著,我們開始了「幫助我們的人」這個主題單元的學習。我們通過《山坡失火了》這個故事認識了消防員的工作,通過《我家有個大廚師》的兒歌了解了廚師的工作;通過《敏希生病了》這個故事認識了醫生的工作,通過學習《刷牙歌》認識了牙醫的工作以及愛護牙齒的重要性;接下來,我們通過《信》這個故事帶出了郵遞員的工作,通過《建築工人職業歌》我們認識了建築工人的工作。孩子們還通過老師設計的各種生動有趣的活動一起在網絡教學中開心參與角色扮演的遊戲,孩子們通過對不同角色的扮演,體驗了不同的職業的工作。

Students also started practising theme-related songs in preparation for the upcoming Lunar New Year celebration.

希望孩子們認真排練《新年好》這首兒歌,一起期待農曆新年的到來。

During times of uncertainty, parents’ support is of great significance to young children. Our campus may be closed but education continues remotely. Thank you, parents, for encouraging your children to maintain normal daily routines and schedules as much as possible.

在這個極具挑戰的一年,我深感家長對孩子的陪伴極具意義,孩子們雖然不能在學校學習,但是卻在爸爸、媽媽的陪伴下,完成了所有的學習任務,感謝家長的支持,你們「愛」的陪伴,將對孩子們的成長產生深遠的影響。
